The H.E.L.P.S. Program

H.E.L.P.S. (High-tech E-assisted Learning Pathway System) is an innovative, international secondary school program developed by Xspace.

board room with studentsThe H.E.L.P.S. credit course program, currently based in China, offers a high quality North American educational experience for designed for ELL students from Grades 10 to 12. The H.E.L.P.S. model fully realizes the potential of blended learning to create a space where students can interact in purposeful ways with peers, digital course materials, the online teacher, and the facilitator in a physical classroom setting. Our facilitators team up with accredited online teachers to guide students through coursework, while helping students develop long-term soft skills (e.g. critical thinking, creativity, communication, leadership, motivation) by promoting face-to-face dialogue in the classroom and offering personalized instruction that fits student’s’ individual needs.

Program Structure

HELPS ProgramH.E.L.P.S. is a 3-year full-time secondary school program spanning from Grades 10 to 12.  Due to the flexibility of the H.E.L.P.S. model, we are able to curate the most suitable credit courses for ELL students from our distributed learning partners in British Columbia and Ontario, thus making the program more accessible for these students compared to traditional international schools.  Upon successful completion of the H.E.L.P.S. program, students graduate with a full Ontario secondary school diploma.  All courses are accredited by the BC and Ontario Ministries of Education, and are delivered by Xspace’s strategic partners, GlobalEd (the School District 73 Business Company in BC) and Virtual High School (a long-established independent online school in Ontario).  Students and facilitators work extensively with computers, laptops, and other technology in the physical classroom.  Class sizes vary from 10 to 25 students, depending on the program location.
